Helicopter flights to and from the mast of the Mt. Scenery Tower Project are scheduled to begin this week.
The first phase will involve preparing the site on the mountain with the needed equipment for the construction. This will be done by bringing old materials down, and needed equipment up by helicopter. After that, the team will start with dismantling the existing tower and lowering it in sections. Once this is completed, the new tower will be transported in parts and assembled on-site by the ground crew at the mountaintop.
As previously communicated, the trail from the junction with the Elfin Forest Trail will be temporarily closed during flight operations to ensure public safety.
We ask everyone on the trails to please pay attention to the posted signs, and follow instructions from the site manager and relevant authorities.
Please note that restrictions and operational schedules may change at a short notice, depending on safety requirements.
