Work visit from Ministry of Health, Environment and Nature of Curacao

On 22 May Island Governor Jonathan Johnson and Deputy Island Secretary Michelle van Duin welcomed a delegation from the Ministry of Health, Environment and Nature of Curacao on Saba. 

The delegation, consisting of Secretary-General and Deputy Head of Public Health, Sharlon Melfor, Policy Director Health, Jeanine Constancia-Kook, and Senior policy advisor, Bob Harms, was introduced to the island and learned how health care in general is arranged on Saba. 

Together with the Head of Public Health and Sports, Menno Bakker, and Advisor on Crisis Management, Shalini Bisram, developments in the working group on Healthcare Emergency Preparedness & Response were discussed. Emphasis was laid on how important it is to bundle knowledge, expertise and experience to prepare for health care related crises scenarios. 

In the afternoon, Director of Saba Cares Rianne Plaisier, welcomed the delegation at Saba Cares for an informative discussion about the hospital.
