Saba Hosts U.S. Media and European Travel Agents

Throughout November, the Saba Tourist Bureau proudly welcomed U.S. media representatives and international travel professionals to the island as part of ongoing efforts to increase global visibility and strengthen industry partnerships.

In collaboration with U.S. public relations partner Diamond PR, the Tourist Bureau hosted two award-winning journalists. One journalist is a contributor to Condé Nast Traveler, and the other writes for Travel + Leisure and Afar. Both experienced Saba’s signature product offerings first-hand.

The journalist writing for Condé Nast Traveler focused on Saba’s renowned hiking experiences. Over the course of three days, she explored several of the island’s most iconic trails. Her coverage of Saba will appear in both the print and digital editions of the magazine. The second journalist concentrated on diving and hiking and will be pitching an island-hopping feature (including Saba) to Travel + Leisure and Afar.

In addition to the U.S. media visits, the Tourist Bureau, together with Dutch PR agency Hopscotch Tourism, organized a familiarization trip for ABC Travel x KLM agents who sell SSS-island packages. The group visited Saba for the first time, gaining an in-depth understanding of the island’s tourism offerings. Agents toured key attractions, joined an island tour and completed a site inspection of the upcoming Scenery Hotel, one of Saba’s most anticipated new properties.

The Tourist Bureau also arranged an island tour and property site inspections for Swiss travel agents representing Dive and Travel. The agency already offers packages to Saba and is interested in expanding their offerings. Both visiting groups expressed strong enthusiasm for Saba’s distinct appeal, noting the island’s ability to offer travelers a uniquely different Caribbean escape.

“Media visits and familiarization trips are essential to ensuring high-quality, informed representation of Saba within the travel trade and global media,” said the Saba Tourist Bureau. “When travel agents and journalists experience the island for themselves, its charm, hospitality, and natural beauty—they become true ambassadors. Their firsthand insight allows them to guide travelers more effectively and to share Saba’s story with authenticity and enthusiasm.”

The Saba Tourist Bureau extends its gratitude to all partners and stakeholders whose support helped make these visits a success.
