Saba 416STARZ Softball Team presents plaque to Commissioner Heyliger

In October 2025, the 416STARZ Softball Team proudly represented Saba during an invitation to participate in friendly, yet highly competitive, games in La Romana, Dominican Republic.

Over the course of the visit, six games were played, with five in La Romana and one in San Pedro. The games resulted in three wins, two losses and one tie for 415STARZ team.

Beyond the games, the experience was about much more than softball. The team was warmly welcomed by the Commissioner of the La Romana Softball League, who presented 416STARZ with a plaque and shared kind words recognizing the strong and growing bond between the two islands. The exchange highlighted the importance of sports in cultural connections, friendship, and tourism.

In appreciation, 416STARZ chose to pass this honor forward by presenting the plaque to Commissioner of Sports Eviton Heyliger, so that it may be displayed within the Department of Public Health & Sports as a symbol of international sportsmanship and partnership.

Commissioner Heyliger expressed his gratitude for the gesture and commended the 416STARZ team for their dedication, discipline, and the outstanding job they continue to do in representing Saba both on and off the field.

"We are proud of our athletes for not only competing with heart and determination, but also for strengthening regional ties and putting Saba on the map through sports," stated Commissioner Heyliger.
