If you are traveling to Saba either by plane, private boat or ferry with your pet, please be advised of the entry requirements for your pet.

Mandatory Vaccinations
Incoulation against rabies is mandatory, vaccinate the first time at least one month before departure, then revaccinate within the vaccine schedule. An animal can be vaccinated from the age of 12 weeks.
In addition, vaccination against distemper is mandatory for dogs, which must be given within 30 days and 1 year before the trip.
Identification
Mandatory chip. Your animal must be chipped before the rabies vaccination is given.
EU Animal Passport
Mandatory EU animal passport.
Health Certificate
Mandatory health certificate. In addition, a clinical examination is mandatory, which must be stated in the EU animal passport, a maximum of 10 days before departure.
Legalization
Legalization of the travel documents by the Dutch Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority (NVWA) is not necessary.
Details
In addition to vaccination against distemper, the usual vaccinations against parvo and hepatitis are recommended. Preventative treatment against Heartworm is also highly recommended.
Special Note
If your animal returns to the Netherlands after the trip, there are the following additional rules:
- Mandatory chip
- EU animal passport required
- Owner's declaration required
- A blood test for rabies is not necessary (exempt)
