The Public Entity Saba wishes to inform the public that renovation works at the Cove Bay Playground will commence on Saturday, May 9, 2026.
While the playground area will undergo renovations, Cove Bay itself will remain accessible to visitors throughout the duration of the works. The public is advised that there may be minimal interruptions at times, e.g. during the offloading of materials, which may require visitors to briefly wait.
The project is expected to be completed by the beginning of June 2026.
These upgrades are being carried out in collaboration with Jantje Beton and the Postcode Lottery, with the goal of creating a more enjoyable and comfortable recreational space for children and families.
Planned improvements to the playground include:
- Shaded areas
- More seating for parents and children
- A wider variety of playground equipment
- New picnic tables made by students at the Saba Comprehensive School
The aforementioned improvements were selected based on feedback from the community through town hall meetings, focus groups, discussions with children and consultation with the Cove Bay board.
