Over the past few years, the Public Entity has worked on setting up the Food Handlers Training through a pilot phase. Thanks to the strong participation from the community, the pilot has been successful and has shown the value of consistent training and certification in improving food safety across the island.
With the pilot now complete, Food Handers Cards will be issued at a fee of $28 per year. This charge will ensure that the program can continue on a sustainable basis to help ensure high standards of food safety for everyone in the community.
Once training is completed, those who need a Food Handlers card are requested to pay the $28 yearly fee at the Receiver’s Office. The receipt can then be brought to the Department of Hygiene to have the card made.
