Citizen Service Number (BSN)
The citizen service number (BSN) is a unique personal number for everyone who is registered in the population register of the public entity of Bonaire, St. Eustatius or Saba. Everyone who registers automatically receives a BSN.
Unique personal number
The citizen service number, often abbreviated to BSN, is a unique, personal 9-digit number linked to your personal details. You will now receive a BSN so that you can safely conduct business with the government online in the future. With a BSN, you can apply for the DigiD login tool. This allows you to log in to websites of government agencies and organisations that are affiliated with DigiD. In the future, this will become increasingly common among organisations in the Caribbean Netherlands.
Use of BSN
The government uses the BSN when processing your personal data. Because it is a unique and personal number, the government can quickly and easily look up and register your data.
Keep your BSN safe
The BSN is your personal number that no one else has. Therefore, keep your BSN safe and do not share it with others.

En 2025, como residente de Bonaire, San Eustaquio y Saba, recibirá un número de identificación personal (BSN), a menudo abreviado como BSN. El BSN es su número personal de 9 dígitos y está vinculado a sus datos personales.
Número personal único

Uso del BSN

Al mismo tiempo, el BSN es su número personal que nadie más tiene. Por lo tanto, mantenga su BSN resguardado y no lo comparta sin más con otras personas.
Recogida de la carta de BSN
A partir del 11 de noviembre de 2025, puede recoger su BSN. Recibirá la carta de la Entidad Pública en el que esté registrado. Los residentes que ya tengan un BSN conservarán el mismo número y también podrán recoger una carta.

In 2025 krijgt u als inwoner van Bonaire, Sint Eustatius of Saba een burgerservicenummer (BSN), vaak afgekort naar BSN. Het BSN is een persoonlijk nummer van 9 cijfers en is gekoppeld aan uw persoonlijke gegevens.
Uniek persoonsnummer
Altijd en overal online zaken regelen met de overheid. Om ervoor te zorgen dat u in de toekomst ook veilig online zaken kan doen met de overheid in Caribisch Nederland, krijgt u nu alvast een BSN. Met een BSN kunt u het inlogmiddel DigiD aanvragen. DigiD gebruikt u om online te laten zien wie u bent als u inlogt op websites van overheden. Met een BSN bent u daarom alvast voorbereid op die toekomst. Het lokale ID-nummer dat u nu heeft blijft de komende jaren nog in gebruik, maar wordt uiteindelijk vervangen door het BSN.
Gebruik BSN
De overheid gebruikt het BSN in de eigen administratie. Omdat het een uniek en persoonlijk nummer is, kan de overheid uw gegevens snel en makkelijk opzoeken en registreren. Tegelijkertijd is het BSN uw persoonlijke nummer dat niemand anders heeft. Bewaar uw BSN daarom goed en deel het niet zomaar met anderen.
Ophalen BSN-brief
Vanaf 11 november 2025 inwoners persoonlijke BSN-brief kunnen ophalen tijdens de BSN ophaalweken.
De brief ontvangt u van het openbaar lichaam waar u bent ingeschreven. Inwoners die al een BSN hebben, houden hetzelfde nummer en kunnen ook een brief ophalen.
