Processing time
Your new passport is usually ready within 15 working days
You’ll be notified when it’s available for pickup.
You must return your old passport when collecting the new one.
Passports not collected within 3 months will be destroyed.
Lost or stolen passport
Report the loss as soon as possible to prevent misuse.
You can file a loss report directly at the Census office.
The replacement process may take longer.

Photo Requirements
Must be taken within the last 6 months
Neutral facial expression, clear view of face
No teeth showing or squinting eyes
Preferably without glasses (because of reflection)
Neutral background in white, grey or light blue
No hats / caps
Currently ICS is the only photographer on the island. If you’re traveling away from the island you can also visit a professional photographer there – make sure they are familiar with the regulations and standard for pictures for Dutch passports.

Steps:
Come to the Census office
You don’t have to make an appointment. Come during our regular opening hours and bring all the needed documents with you.
What to bring
Your current and any expired passports and/or Dutch ID cards.
A recent passport photo (not older than 6 months, meeting Dutch photo requirements).
A valid payment method, cash or card
For children under 18: written parental consent for the issuing of a passport. Only the parents with custody need to sign. If a third party has custody, then they need to sign the consent as well.
