Passport Application or Renewal

Who can apply?

  • Dutch citizens living on Saba and registered at the Census office.
  • Are you not registered on Saba? Please contact the Kabinet on Sint Maarten for your application

      How to Apply

      • Come to the Census office

        • You don’t have to make an appointment. Come during our regular opening hours and bring all the needed documents with you.
      • What to bring
        • Your current and any expired passports and/or Dutch ID cards.
        • A recent passport photo (not older than 6 months, meeting Dutch photo requirements).
        • A valid payment method, cash or card
        • For children under 18: written parental consent for the issuing of a passport. Only the parents with custody need to sign. If a third party has custody, then they need to sign the consent as well.

      Processing time

      • Your new passport is usually ready within 15 working days
      • You’ll be notified when it’s available for pickup.
      • You must return your old passport when collecting the new one.
      • Passports not collected within 3 months will be destroyed.

      Lost or stolen passport

      • Report the loss as soon as possible to prevent misuse.
      • You can file a loss report directly at the Census office.
      • The replacement process may take longer.

        Photo Requirements

        • Must be taken within the last 6 months
        • Neutral facial expression, clear view of face
          • No teeth showing or squinting eyes
          • Preferably without glasses (because of reflection)
          • Neutral background in white, grey or light blue
          • No hats / caps
        • Currently ICS is the only photographer on the island. If you’re traveling away from the island you can also visit a professional photographer there – make sure they are familiar with the regulations and standard for pictures for Dutch passports.

          Checklist

          • Valid photo (≤ 6 months old)
          • Previous passports/ID cards (even if they are expired)
          • Parental consent if under 18
          • Payment ready
