The BSN is a unique and personal number that everyone will receive now, so that in the future it will also be possible to conduct business with the government online. Receiving a BSN is a first step toward better government services.
BSN pick-up weeks
The pick-up weeks run from the 11th of November to the 4th of December. During this time, everyone can pick up their BSN letter without an appointment. To ensure everyone is served efficiently, the Public Entities will deploy extra staff during these weeks. After the pick-up weeks, the BSN can always be requested from the Census Office. Do you already have a BSN? Then you will keep the same number.
Proof of identity required
To pick up your BSN letter, you must bring a valid proof of identity, such as your I.D. card, passport or driving licence. Do you have children under the age of 16? Parents and guardians of a child under the age of 16 can pick up the child's BSN letter.
