Given this reality, the Public Entity will develop a climate adaptation plan with the aim to improve Saba’s self-sufficiency to prepare it for these impacts. Strategic design consultancy, Reimpact Studio, has been brought on board to help the Public Entity develop this climate plan and an action agenda.
Residents are invited to attend either of two town halls that the Public Entity will host to introduce the development process of a climate plan for Saba. The town halls will be held on:
- Monday, February 10th, at 6:00 – 7:00 pm in the Eugenius Johnson Center in Windwardside
- Tuesday, February 11th, at 6:00 – 7:00 pm in the conference room of the Fire Station in The Bottom
The two town halls will introduce residents to the process for the development of the climate plan. These town halls are also an opportunity for residents to voice their opinions on this topic and to ask questions. Snacks and drinks will be available.
The process to develop the plan is consultative and participatory. This means that the plan will also be developed with input from key stakeholders on the island, which include persons and organizations operating within the various island sectors and the general public. Daniella Sachs of Reimpact Studio will be on island from February 10th – 14th to carry out stakeholder sessions with the aim of gathering the necessary information that will help shape the climate plan.
Open workshops will be held later in the week of February 10th – 14th in which residents will be invited to take part. This information will be communicated in a separate public notice.
We encourage residents to attend the town hall meetings as we share more on the climate plan.
