Preparing for climate change starts with understanding what it means for Saba and the people who live here.

Saba's Climate Plan sets out the island's approach to climate adaptation, with a focus on greater self-sufficiency and preparing for the impacts of climate change. Its development brought together community perspectives, stakeholder input, and research on the risks facing the island.

Explore the plan and learn about the work behind it.

Public Entity Saba and the Nature and Environment Policy Plan (NEPP) team began sharing information about climate resilience and talked about the development of a climate adaptation plan for Saba. We are now proud to announce that we will continue that work through Saba's Official Climate Plan.

Where we started

Community input was part of the development process. In 2024, the Public Entity Saba conducted a survey to understand residents' experiences of climate change, their concerns, and what they needed to become more involved.

Respondents raised concerns about food and water supplies, hurricanes, heat, and drought. They also expressed strong support for Saba becoming more self-sufficient.

The process continued in 2025 through community town halls and stakeholder workshops to inform the development of the plan and its action agenda.
