A disorganized tropical wave is currently over the central tropical Atlantic (depicted in orange). The effects of this tropical wave may be felt on Saba anywhere from Monday into Wednesday, however forecasts concerning the development of the wave are still uncertain at this time. Heavy rainfall, thunderstorms and high winds may possibly occur.
Another tropical wave (depicted in yellow) is moving off the west coast of Africa, showing some signs of activity. There is a low chance of development within the next two days, however forecasts can change rapidly during this time of the year.
Therefore, we would like to encourage residents to prepare and secure their homes and property as needed, for example:
• Ensure you have a hurricane plan in place for preparing your homes, indoors and outdoors
• Ensure important documents are in a waterproof and secure container.
• Ensure that your shutters are intact and capable of properly securing your windows
• We advise putting out garbage at least two days before any storms and garbage bins should be secured
• Follow the instructions of PES or emergency services during bad weather, e.g. staying off roads
We will continue to monitor the development of the weather systems and update the public as they progress.
