During each one-hour session, Bos delivered an informative presentation, engaging students in interactive discussions about the importance of preparation during the hurricane season.
A highlight of the sessions was when students were invited to choose an item from Bos' "Bag of goods", which contained both useful and irrelevant items to have during hurricane conditions. The students were challenged to select an item they believed would be helpful during or after a hurricane and explain their reasoning. This exercise sparked positive and insightful dialogue within the sessions, further enhancing the children's understanding of hurricane preparedness.
Bos also invited students to ask each other certain questions about hurricanes, making use of the radio's or "walkie-talkies" he brought along. These are normally intended for use by Saba's crisis organization. This allowed students to experience and reflect on the importance and difficulty of communication.
Bos concluded each session by thanking the Sacred Heart school for being invited to speak and the children for their curiosity and attentiveness, encouraging them to continue asking questions and staying prepared.
